A Year of Action
The LA County Legislative Delegation (LACD) exists to bring the region’s state legislators together around one shared goal: delivering real results for LA County residents.
Through coordinated advocacy, budget negotiations, and public events, the delegation works to secure funding for housing, transit, wildfire recovery, and community infrastructure, then puts that work in front of the public so residents can see exactly what their representatives are fighting for.
This year has been
one of the delegation’s
most active yet.
This year as been marked by high-profile events and a legislative track record built on direct, sustained pressure in Sacramento.
LA28 Venue Tour
One of the year’s standout moments was the LA28 venue tour, hosted alongside Assemblymember Tina McKinnor.
The tour gave a firsthand look at the Olympic venues taking shape across Los Angeles County, while spotlighting the delegation’s role in making sure the 2028 Games benefit LA County communities and not just the host sites.
It was a chance to connect the abstract promise of the Olympics to the concrete infrastructure, jobs, and investment the delegation has been pushing for at the state level.
Altadena Wildfire Recovery
The LACD Foundation also stepped into direct wildfire recovery work this year, raising funds for two ADUs in Altadena in partnership with The Sola Foundation.
The initiative reflects the delegation’s broader commitment to rebuilding after the wildfires, giving displaced families a faster path back into permanent housing while demonstrating what community partnerships can look like.
FIFA World Cup Watch Fundraiser
That same commitment to fire recovery carried through to the FIFA World Cup watch party in Inglewood, a fundraiser for Altadena and Palisades fire relief.
Pairing a global sporting moment with direct fundraising for neighbors still rebuilding captured what the delegation tries to do at every event: turn community energy into tangible support.
Advocacy
Behind these events sits a legislative agenda focused on the issues LA County residents feel most directly.
The delegation has pushed budget advocacy around wildfire recovery, Exposition Park, LA Metro and Olympics readiness, LACAHSA housing funding, and Medi-Cal protections. Each of these efforts represents the less visible half of the delegation’s work, the sustained negotiation in Sacramento that makes the ribbon-cuttings and fundraisers possible in the first place.
Looking Ahead
From the LA28 venue tour to ADU fundraising in Altadena to the FIFA watch party in Inglewood, this year has shown the LACD operating on two tracks at once: building public momentum through visible, community-facing events, and pushing for legislative wins that fund the recovery and growth LA County needs.
The delegation’s work isn’t finished, but the throughline is clear. Every event, every bill, and every dollar raised this year has been in service of the same goal: a stronger, more resilient LA County.
